fast fix for WordPress WYSIWYG visual editor not working or not appearing
November 22nd, 2007 8:59 ammany people have problem with broken visual editor after upgrading their wordpress to version 2.3.1, seem that it have something to do with tinymce javascripts. after tweaking and re-upload new files from 2.3.1 release and subversion it give me nothing, so i decided to upload js from previous version (2.3), then i checkout what have been changed/fixed in version 2.3.1, i found that no javascript-related bug being fixed. taking this into consideration, i decided to re-upload js file from prior version (2.3) and…walla!! my editor are back
so, if you still want you WYSIWYG editor back, but those stupid so-called helper at wordpress support forum keep telling you how to alternatively turn off visual editor instead of fixing it, you may try this.
just simply re-upload wp-includes/js folder from wordpress 2.3 replace 2.3.1 wp-includes/js
i hope this will help you get your visual editor back, but i may not be responsible if any bad thing happened to your site due to this solution since i didn’t know what the effect of this. but i seem working fine, autosaving work great, spellcheck doing fine. hurm… no problem at all i think [smokin]
note: please clear your browser cache after re-upload those js files. then view your write post
