I came across a nice tutorial to get the same behavior as under windows (Open System Monitor) when you hit Ctrl+Alt+Del.
Just use the following commands in a Terminal:

If you want to play around a bit with the Project Looking Glass from Sun you only need the Java Web Starter:

It’s not terrific, but it’s nice to take a look at it
